These
purifiers remove oxygen as an impurity from hydrogen. The
purifiers work with hydrogen only, as the catalytic material
requires an abundance of hydrogen to function. The catalytic
combination of hydrogen and oxygen results in the formation of
water vapor.
The water
vapor should be removed using a Model 450B or 460 purifier on
the outlet.
The
catalytic material within these filters should last
indefinitely, unless poisoned by contaminants (oil, sulfur
compounds, lead, iron salts, organic solvents, etc.)
