The Model
8550 Electronic Scale has been designed to provide the weight of
contents in cylinders of liquefied gas. Since the pressure in a
cylinder containing a liquefied gas remains constant over the
majority of the usage period, content weight is the only true
method of determining the remaining contents in this type of
cylinder. |
| Most of the electronics
have been removed from the platform module of this unit,
reducing the chances of platform failure and possible ignition
of reactive and flammable gases caused by contact of these gases
with the circuitry. The major electronic component in the
platform is a strain gauge load cell sealed from the ambient
environment. This sealed cell has the added advantage of making
the platform waterproof in the event of sprinkler activation or
other wash down events using water systems. |
| The control
box for the unit is rack mountable (1/2 rack) or suitable for
bench top installation. There is a large LCD readout for weight
indication and switches for alarm set points and zeroing. Alarm
status is indicated by a warning light and a built-in contact
closure can provide a remote alarm signal. |
