Two basic configurations are available to allow the user to make the most of the allotted space for the system. These two configurations are known as single row and double row. A single row configuration means that all of the connections to the manifold of cylinders are accomplished in a continuous straight line. A double row configuration means that the connections to the manifold occur on either side of the common line. This double row configuration has two equal rows of cylinders with the common line running between the two rows requiring support from either the ground up or suspended from above.

The outlet fitting on the manifold is the same CGA as on the end of the pigtail and is configured the same as the cylinder valve outlet to allow attachment of a standard regulator.

1. Manifolds should be used for a single gas during the entire life of the manifold. It is not recommended to alternate or regularly change gases used on a given manifold.
2. Manifolds should always be used for a single gas and should never be used to mix gases.
3. Matheson recommends that all manifold pigtails have check valves as a safety measure in the event that the manifold is used improperly. Use of a check valve should never be construed as a substitute for closing the manifold station valve.
4. All standard manifolds are constructed on 12" centers (station valve to station valve) for maximum support, stability and cylinder clearance. The user should never modify or change the dimensions or components of a manifold without authorization from Matheson.
