The Matheson Series 6103
and 6104 dry type Flash Arrestors should be used in many
applications where flammable gases are used. |
| The
Matheson Model 6104 Stainless Steel Flash Arrestor features all
high purity materials and design. The unit is compact in size
and only Stainless Steel, Teflon®, and Viton® are used in its
construction. This is the ideal flash arrestor for protecting
hydrogen systems in high purity applications. |

- Positive shut off of
gas—checks the reverse flow under most conditions. Also
stops gas supply when a flashback occurs.
- Positive
extinguishing of flame within the housing.
- REUSABLE—can be
reset and reused after a flashback has occurred (maximum of
three times recommended)
- No gas flow
restriction under normal conditions since there are no
porous filters or other surfaces to become clogged.
- Gas flow shut-off
in the event of flashback...gas escape from system or
fire support prevented.
- Flame
extinguished...flame front prevented from reaching gas
supply.
- Helium Leak Rate
certification available.
- VCR® or any
other commercially available end fittings can be welded into
6104 flash arrestor body.

WARNING - these arrestors should not
be used in installations where it is possible for pure oxygen to enter
the hydrogen system.
Tests have proven that the
Model 6103 and Model 6104 Series Flash Arrestors provide excellent
flashback protection for situations in which air accidentally enters the
hydrogen system and a flashback results
WARNING - not for use with Silane or
Nitrous Oxide
