Description
Matheson's Carbon Dioxide Monitor and Ventilation Efficiency Measurement System (VEMS) diagnoses ventilation problems by measuring and tracking ambient CO2 levels. Normal ambient air contains between 330 and 450 ppm carbon dioxide. ASHRAE 62-1989 stipulates that indoor CO2 levels should not exceed 1000 ppm. High CO2 levels invariably indicate problems with ventilation efficiency and/or distribution. Poor ventilation can also lead to a concentration build-up of harmful air contaminants
The Matheson Model 8086 Carbon Dioxide Monitor uses advanced, low cost, non-disperse infrared (NDIR) technology. A patented wave guide structure serves both as a very efficient optical collection system, and also as an environmentally sealed, but gas permeable, sample chamber with no pumps or moving parts. The result is a sensor that is highly sensitive, very stable, compact and rugged.
The monitor is powered by 120VAC and a rechargeable battery, allowing both fixed and portable operation. It provides a range of 0-1999 ppm and features an easy to read LCD with a user adjustable alarm. A 0-2VDC linear output signal allows communication to data tracking devices such as the 8086R Data Logger.
The Matheson Model 8086R is a user-friendly, four channel Data Logger that can collect up to 97 days of carbon dioxide measurements. Included is an RS 232 interface for output to a PC.
The Matheson 8086S is a complete Ventilation Efficiency Measurement System (VEMS). Included are the 8086 Carbon Dioxide Monitor, the 8086R Data Logger, and a Power Bag that provides up to 12 hours of battery operation. Also included is VG Graphing software which runs in DOS 5.0 with user-friendly, pull-down menus. Graphs can be created quickly and easily.
